Legacy Community Health is looking for a Certified Medical Billing Coder to join our team in Houston

About the Position

The Medical Billing Coder at Legacy Community Health uses a system of coding to categorize patients and their ailments for billing, record keeping, archiving, and cataloging. You will act as the link between the billing office and the care provider's office by filing and retrieving medical records and reviewing the patient information for relevant information. You will also assist the billing and collection specialists in verifying, and correcting as needed, coding issuers depending on insurance requests or claim denials. The Medical Billing Coder also audits new providers on 100% review for a 30 - 90 day period in addition to performing yearly audits on existing providers.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of AHIMA or AAPC Certified Coding Program
    • Program must have included Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, and Medical Terminology
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A)
  • 2 years of experience in Medical Billing and Coding
