About the Position
A Surgical Technologist at Lifespan functions as a member of the surgical team to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for the surgical patient while also assisting the surgeon. You will provide care for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in instrumentation and materials
- Demonstrate proper preparation and passing of needles, sutures, surgical drains, medications, and hemostatic agents
- Assist the surgeon as needed by anticipating needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical field set-up
- Assist with optimum utilization of resources by using physician preference cards, the proper resource person, as well as appropriate equipment and supplies
Key Results
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, physicians, and other surgical staff
- Assist in safely moving patients to and from the operating table
- Properly set-up and break-down a sterile fields and instruments
- Participate in lifelong learning through continuing education and community activities

Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist School
- Surgical Technologist certification, preferred
- Current CPR certification
