S:US is looking for a Clinical Director for CSIDD / START multidisciplinary treatment team

About the Position

The Clinical Director provides and supervises groundbreaking crisis intervention and prevention services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as mental health needs in Brooklyn and Staten Island. As a seasoned Mental Health Clinician, you will be able to be part of an interactive teaching and learning environment that makes a difference in the IDD community. This role has three primary responsibilities: Supervision, Assessment, and Training.

  • Supervision: You will coordinate the operations of the clinical team, resource team, and in-home supports as well as provide training and consultation to staff, families, and providers. You will also share administrative on-call duties to ensure 24/7 response to crisis situation.
  • AssessmentYou will teach new team members and complete individual assessments as needed upon intake while supervising the Comprehensive Service Evaluations, Cross System Crisis Prevention and Intervention Plans (CSCPIP), and Therapeutic Coaching, Treatment, and Progress.
  • Training: You will identify training and support needs of the community and take charge in developing materials and presentations for monthly Clinical Education Team Meetings. You will also need to participate in the Center for START Services National Network.

The CSIDD (Crisis Services for Individual with Developmental Disabilities) / START offers crisis prevention and response services to people with both developmental disabilities and complex behavioral and mental health needs, as well as to their families and others who provide support. The CSIDD / START multidisciplinary treatment team is a dynamic, inspiring, and supportive group of professionals dedicated to helping families support the people they love and care for by using a systematic and effective bio-psycho-social model of approach. We pride ourselves on building relationships and supports across service systems to help people remain in their homes and communities as well as enhancing the ability of the community to support these ones. 

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 / year

We are seeking a Full-Time employee but can offer a Part-Time 24 hours/week position.

Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology
    • ​​​​​​​Master's Level in Psychology or Social Work with a minimum of 7 years experience may be accepted
  • New York State licensure as a Psychiatrist or Psychologist
  • Certified START Coordinator or completion of START Coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hire
  • Able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
  • Extensive experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) alongside behavioral health needs
  • Experience developing and implementing positive behavior support plans preferred
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to travel through Brooklyn and Staten Island
