S:US is looking for an experienced Housing Specialist to join our St. Johns Pl Shelter
About the Position
The Housing Specialist works with our Shelter in order to provide aftercare services to program participants and their families. These services include interviewing clients to assess current housing needs and status as well as submitting the appropriate applications to community resources. You will also conduct groups that discuss available housing options, how to secure an apartment, and how to handle housing-related issues. The Housing Specialist is also available to accompany residents to housing interviews and/or fairs. You will also provide housing resources, such as phone numbers, to clients and serve as the liaison between the clients and their landlords.
About the Homeless Services
S:US is working hard to help prevent homelessness by operating homeless individuals and families, for people living with HIV/AIDS, for individuals with mental health challenges, and for families experiencing domestic violence. We also connect homeless people to medical centers to ensure primary medical care and adherence to treatment. Our Homeless Services include homeless prevention, shelters, outreach services, and transition services.
Salary: $40,000 / year
