S:US is looking for a Respite Specialist to join our Bright Corner Respite Program

About the Position

The Respite Specialist at SUS works in the provision of a hospital diversion model that provides temporary services, including residential or respite care, so that clients can stay in a warm, friendly, safe, and supportive home-like environment. You will be part of a team teaching clients how to use new recovery and relapse prevention skills through 24-hour peer support, self-advocacy education, self-help training, and mutual understanding. As the Respite Specialist, you will develop partnerships with guests experiencing crisis in order to promote a safe, comfortable, and secure environment. You will utilize your own personal experience with the mental health system in order to aid the guest's personal recovery process.

Salary: $36,000 / year

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of Core Peer Specialist Training program preferred
  • Able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
  • 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or related setting
    • Usage of the recovery model preferred
  • Lived experience with the mental health system and willingness to share personal experience
  • Flexible schedule to provide evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
  • Bilingual, preferred
